In February 2016, at the ISE LED Technology Fair in Amsterdam, Netherlands, a screen with one of the smallest pixel pitches (1.87 mm) was demonstrated. This was part of the Megatex's task under the OptIntegral project.
OptIntegral is a three year project which started on 1st of February 2015. Nine European partners from five European countries took part in this project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme.
OptIntegral project has been launched to develop advanced LED advertising displays using in-mould hybrid integration of TOLAE (Thin, Organic and Large Area Electronics) and photonics components.
The aim of OptIntegral was to prove the viability of the technology, and demonstrate the flexibility, sustainability, and cost effectiveness of this revolutionary manufacturing process.
Megatex’s part of the project was to develop a 2D Display Demonstrator for retail, transportation and hospitality sectors by using the in-mould hybrid integration process.
The results achieved by Megatex in the development of the display were presented by Mr. Nikolay Slavov, Project Manager of the company.
